so I want to join a PRO. But GEMA (I’m from Germany) wants you to register ALL your tracks. What do I do about the tracks I’ve already sold? Will I have to contact all my customers (luckily there are only 21)?

Die Gema nimmt Künstler auf, die den Listening Musik Markt erfolgreich bedienen. Da die Gema als einzige PRO auch die Lizensen ihrer Mitglieder verwertet, ist ein Beitritt für Royalty Free Stock Künstler ausgeschlossen. Sobald du den Vertrag unterschreibst musst du dein AJ Konto löschen. Ferner schrieb mir die Gema dazu “Somit ist ein Beitritt in die Gema, immer eine wirtschaftliche Entscheidung des Künstlers!” . Aber jetzt wiesst du wie du Argumentieren kannst, falls das Finanzamt dich auffordert der KSK beizutreten.

Why would you register tracks in two PROs?

I actually meant “a different” PRO. So what would happen, if I’d register with a PRO from a different country instead of GEMA.
Read a lot. Just be careful about not end up signing with two PRO that collects in the same country. In other words, it may be (even if it is unintentional) “fraud” because you’ll be collecting twice for one track. I’m not a lawyer, I’m just inviting you to investigate and help you.
