Melody Sunday Font

I cannot figure out how to connect the words with the heart in the middle like the font shows. Can someone please help me?

This can get a bit messy unfortunately. Those are special characters often called “swashes” or “glyphs”, and they are not something that can be typed, nor can they be inserted with any sort of alt code.

If you’re using Photoshop, you can go to Type > Panels > Glyphs Panel to view all of the available glyphs. Other Adobe software might have a similar option available when using text-based tools.

If you’re using Microsoft Office, you can go to Insert > Symbol and then set the subset option to “Private Use Area”, after which all of the font’s glyphs will be listed.

You can also do this straight from Windows in case you’re using a program that doesn’t make these glyphs available to you. From the start menu, search for “Character Map” and then select the font. You’ll need to change a few things first:

  • Enable “advanced view”
  • Set the character set to “unicode”
  • Set the group to “unicode subrange”, a dialog will pop up
  • Select “Private Use Characters” in the popup

It’s normal to see a lot of blank squares after that, but if you scroll through, you will eventually see the heart glyphs. Click on one, then hit “select” and “copy”. You can now paste it into your program of choice.
