License for Musical

Hi there,
A Client asked me if she was allowed to use a Track of me for a musical. She wants to Write lyrics on the Track and perform it on Stage. Is this gernerally alloweded and which license she has to pirchase?

Hello,

It is specifically forbidden for a client to add lyrics to a track and turn it into a song. Although, it could be argued that the track is still part of a bigger scope, ie the musical.

But for me this would be a no-go.

From the licensing FAQ:

“Can I use an AJ track in a stand-alone music track? What about sound effects?”

You may not use music in stand-alone music tracks, but you could use sound effects in a music track.

Example: You can’t add lyrics to an audio track and sell it on iTunes
