Hello friends! I recently registered with HAAWK / Identifyy and upload all the latest tracks there at the same time as audiojungle. At the time of registration, the receiver assessed my portfolio and recommended that I download the entire portfolio in its entirety. But!!! I noticed that my sales decreased. Based on this, I had a question. How much does this affect sales? Or is the decrease in my sales not affected at all, just a coincidence? Please share your experience, advice. Thanks in advance!
From my experience having music registered with AdRev does not impact sales whatsoever. As long as you are upfront and include this in your item descriptions then all should be well. The downturn in sales is felt everywhere and at the moment authors are price dumping which compounds the problem.
Thank you very much for your answer! I needed to gain confidence in my decision. Now I will be sure to protect my music from illegal use. I wish you success and all the best!
I did it recently too so I understand the feeling. In the long run it’s the wise thing to do. Also it looks and is professional so it might attract different clients who are in different businesses and understand why authors protect their work.
I’ve read too many horror stories of work getting stolen. In the unlikely case of losing some sales that is still worth it compared to getting your work pirated.
No impact in my case.
You can always release claims.
No impact here
Thanks friends! This is what I was hoping to hear. I will protect all tracks from the portfolio. I hope this will not create any inconvenience to customers who have already purchased licenses. Thank you for your responsiveness!
Claim can always be released
Hello everyone! I’m new here, so my question is, can I upload music to Identifyy if it’s already on sale on Audiojungle? Or I need to change the description of the track and send it back for review and only after approval send it to Identifyy?
You can indeed register your music with Identifyy. All you have to do on Audiojungle is edit the description so as to add the “music registered with ContendID” image provided by Envato at the very top of your description. You’ll also need to check yes for the ContentID check box and add the the third-party service provider of your choosing. Your edited item is not sent for review, so you don’t need to wait for any approval before actually registering.
Thanks! Now everything has become clear)
@PurpleFog : What happens, if a track is registered with ContentID, but it is not declared at the AJ item? Does it have any consequences for customers or the author?
Some ill-advised customers actively seek non-registered music, they may feel tricked and lied to which could get them to ask for a refund or give a bad rating.
The author would be breaking Envato’s rules. In theory they could thus have to face disciplinary measures if customers complain to Envato.
I have no idea how much of a thing this is in reality, though.
In any case, it’s not a good strategy to purposely omit to indicate the item is ContentID registered. More and more buyers are recognizing ContentID as the industry standard. They tend to view non-registered music as non-professional, or even worse, stolen or prone to fraudulent copyright claims they won’t be able to clear, and thus they avoid those items.
Thanks for clearance @PurpleFog
It seems no impact here! My music is protected and I’ve not so bad earnings.
