How do I deactivate a codecanyon plugin

I want to deactivate a plugin from one website and install it on another.

Licenses are only good for a single project. So you will need to purchase another license if you want to use the item in a different project.

Thanks!

But, that website isn’t using it any longer. Can’t I deactivate it and use it on another one?

Unfortunately you can’t. The usage license you purchased is only good for a single project. Thanks!

so if I have a test site
test.myurl.com
I cannot move it to

live.myurl.com ?

Hi @izuio - that is totally fine as the test and live domains are both for the same project. If the plugin won’t allow you to do this, you should contact the author of the plugin for help with their licensing system.

…but it’s your plugin which supplies the updates. I am sure your authors love the codecanyon handicap.

contact me via my web

Are you perhaps talking about the Envato Market plugin? As far as I am aware, this doesn’t restrict usage of a purchase code, because it’s a standalone plugin.

Also just to clarify - I don’t work for Envato, I am an author myself.

Hey @hypexxx! My understanding is that licenses are for a single “end-product”, so once you use a license on a live website, you cannot use it on another, even if the website closes. Of course there are some exceptions to this rule, such as if you move to a new domain but it’s the same project.

thanks Bailey - who knows how this works; I wanted to activate a plugin I bought on test site but fear it will lead to tedium in moving it. code canyon needs to lift their game or preferably just go away.
