help! need to update theme but no access to the themeforest/envato account

Hello,

SO I kind of took over a website that was previously built with a theme forest theme (Renovate). It’s VERY outdated (version 3.5.1) and the site currently had all kinds of issues. The host forced a php upgrade and then wordpress also updated to the latest version, and many plugins were not compatible, couldn’t even log into the admin dashboard without disabling plugins then rolling back wordpress.

Anyhow… my question is… I have no access to the guy that built this originally. I have no idea what account the theme was purchased under. Is there anything I can do to update this? Everything I see basically says I just need to redownload and reinstall the latest version of the theme and then it should prompt my plugins to update…

Specifically revolution slider and wpbakery visual composer. I really dont want to have to tell this guy he’s got to pay money for a theme he already paid someone for a few years ago.

DO i have any options if I can’t track down the original account?

Hi!

download item, download update and item support only for the original purchaser account. If you are not the original purchaser there is no options to get access the download for the theme.

I’d add that even if you had access you would need to be clear what and how any customisations had been made previously.

If these had not been done properly then there’s a danger you could easily end up deleting them when updating the theme
