Yes you can use that site photos who offer free or MIT license.
You can use images from places like unsplash in the demo bit must not include them in the download versions - here they should be replaced with placeholders.
You can actually use stock images like shutterstock for the demos too (same rules apply about not having them in the download) BUT for these you need the appropriate commercial license too
