NO! he does not have a month yet !!!
HAHAHAAHAA
Manriquedelara, SHUT UP!
PD; We have to wait till tomorrow.
This is precisely why nobody is buying music that is older than a month - surely the corporate sound is now too full, but they keep getting accepted.
I would keep the popular files list as it stands and then go to the corporate / motivation category and simply press delete - quick and painless.
I want to pay attention to customers: in words they need music for the background, but in fact all the chase and buy top tracks. So what do you need ? write tracks of three chords with a primitive melody or rich, complex with a catchy melody tracks.
You are right, but where will going all those corporate tracks? They will start to upload to another category?
Maybe ambient?!.. Oh wait!
Once deleted from this marketplace they are gone for good. Also at review stage bland corporate tracks following the same structure, arrangement etc should be rejected - IMHO. This is why I cannot do these kind of tracks - too difficult for me - I wished I could, I have tried but I canât.
The library will flood so much that even buyers wonât know what to buy
This is a strong act!! Congrats!!!
It is a nice conversation, as always, aj authors giving good ideas to solve their problems. But AJ has no problems, they still make money, no matter if your track is original or is a copycat / template. So, for them, if something is not broken, there is no need to fix it.
Now, about our problem as authors, is our duty to fix them. Sadly it might be working in another place. I donât blame Envato, as they have a nice platform and great crowd and customers. The problem is ours.
The more authors stamp the tracks, the more the market becomes saturated and the less the cost of each individual track.
Mandatory deletion on items that do not sell after a month of publication? I will be kicked out immediately. I hope that AJ will improve the search instead of such the drastic measure.
I personally like the long tail theory. This strategy is possible thanks to the nature of digital contents and online market. What is good about the AJ is that we can keep our music on digital shelf as assets like real estates at no costs. It gives better Return on Investment than keeping money in most of savings accounts.
But finding such those niches requires time and efforts thus money, so you cannot always find niches quick enough before you dry up your budgets or before you simply give up.
Some advice us to go into the popular market (red ocean) while looking for the niches (blue ocean). (please see Red Ocean vs. Blue Ocean in case you are not familiar with the concept.)
In a theoretical happy world, where there is no rejections and time needed for releasing music on AJ, I would get into the red ocean (corporate, inspiring and so on) while releasing some experimental music. In reality⌠never mind.
It took almost 4 years (1,437 days) to make the first sale on this item and sold again to a user in a different country a few months later, though I was least expecting any sales (3 likes, 30 plays at soundcloud). The analytics suggests that views came within the AJ site.
But this one released 5 years and a half ago (2,012 days) which I was hoping to see sales has not made any sales at all until today (2 likes, 138 plays at soundcloud) I am afraid that I should rather be posting a thread to ask for advices in the forum:
A track of mine got purchased for the first time in 5 years!

While Envato may not purge files, that doesnât stop authors from voluntarily removing non-sellers. Envato could encourage that if they donât want to have to review all the old items and cut them without your input. Youâre actually doing yourself and everyone else a favor by opening up the search engine a bit. You may also improve your reputation as a composer.
Iâve seen some authors who got nearly all of their sales from one or two tracks out of a big catalog. If 80% to 90% of your tracks donât sell, in reality, you wasted your time composing them if you donât use them as a learning experience. It pays to look at your sales record and learn from it instead of randomly cranking out songs without reviewing how well they do. If you see a track doesnât sell, perhaps itâs in a style you arenât very good at writing or it isnât compatible with the types of use most customers at AJ have in mind. So, you need to adjust. Remove the non-sellers and either re-work them or replace them entirely with something you see is working. That does NOT mean copy other peopleâs work. It just means you need to study trends in general by looking at top selling tracks on multiple sites, not just AJ.
Perhaps itâs a numbers game, but you have to consider that if some of your ânumbersâ arenât selling, they donât really count.
Yesterday whilst I was raising the price on my items I have deleted about 325 tracks. Portfolio feels and hears much better for it.
Thatâs a very audacious move! I always thought your portfolio was one of the best around here, but to know that you have now chosen to only keep the best of the old âbestâ is great! I wish more authors will have your guts in the future!
(I do regular portfolio cleanups during the year and for the next few months after one, I often see a little peak in sales. Maybe itâs only due to luck, but I think that such a move does have its merits in the long term anyway. I wish you good luck with this bold choice!)
Indeed to the customers eyes it is always better to show a succesfull portfolio. Well done!
Have you deleted so many tracks and you do not feel sorry for them? Congratulations, brave step!
I deleted tracks that I felt would be undeserving of raising itâs price too potential buyers. I wanted to stream line the portfolio since it was bloated and did not reflect a uniform quality and standard that I have been striving to reach.
