Do freebies stop being offered by market.envato.com, like codecanyon.net or themeforest.com?
normally they are on the end of the respective homepage…

We haven’t completely stopped these, but the “Free File of the Month” program is no longer running, and that part of the Market homepages has now been removed. We’ve run this program for almost as long as Envato Market has existed, but will be focusing on other promotions from October onwards.
We’re still maintaining a landing page for Free WordPress Themes, where you can find new content each month:
You will also see free files used to support major Envato Market campaigns like the Cyber Week sale, and occasionally as part of customer emails.
