I was looking for daft punk style sample pack and couldnt find anywhere named daft punk like sample pack. There are many sample packs named disco- house- funk genre but it seems none of them like what i search for.
I’m looking for sample’s like “Random Access Memories” drums.
Can’t say I’ve ever used loop masters dot com, but it might be worth downloading the free “taster pack” to see if anything there is what you’re looking for.
If you’ve got some time spare, you could try this:
1: Put the song who’s drums you’re inspired by into your daw.
2: Try your best to copy the sound and rhythm of the drums exactly. Delve into everything, whether it’s tweaking synth patches, playing with delays, compression, filters, whatever, just keep the process as organic as possible (i.e. Don’t cheat by using pre-processed patches/Kontakt sounds). Keep playing with it until you are satisfied that you have recreated an accurate copy of the drums in the track. Look for tutorials on creating French House drum sounds if you need to, and definitely seek out articles in music magazines which feature Daft Punk for your research (This one from Sound On Sound is an inspiring read). Leave no stone unturned.
3: Delete the project folder/files so that you are not tempted to actually steal anything from it.
4: Create a brand new track using some of the new techniques that you learned.
As long as you don’t try to sell the stuff you copy, recreating your favourite music is a great way to learn how to get that style happening in your own music. I guess it’s like a producers version of playing cover songs in a band. Worth a go at least, plus creating your own drum sounds is fun!
