Hello, community!
Today I received a message from a customer that some of his videos was blocked on YouTube due to a copyright claim. And I have NOT registered my track in any PRO. Please tell me what I should do first.
Customer’s quote "The person who claim the music : “Elite Alliance Music”
This is not person, it’s a company that administrating Content ID. You need to see what track claimed, write them if possible. Sometimes false claims could be the reason of such claims or close similarity to someone track.
I know that Elite Alliance Music is a company who manages copyrights. The problem is that I haven’t registered my music on their site. Someone did it instead of me. I tried to contact them, as for now no answer.
Write them. They usually reply fast
Write me in PM or my profile, ii will give you mail of their director
Unfortunately this is a common mistake, whether intentional or unintentional.
You do have the option of registering your music with a Content ID provider first before any sales are made. That should in theory prevent someone else from registering the same recording if it is already registered to your account.
Only in theory, unfortunately. I have experienced this first hand. My Content ID registration hijacked, which causes a conflict. I registered many years before the thief.
Of course, it’s best to be the first to register anyway, as proof when it’s time to resolve this hassle.
