Copyright issue solved but still facing problem

Hello Authors & Envato authority,
Mistakenly our designer/developer used premium font for just a single title. We didn’t notice before. After getting complain and disabling our item from envato we removed this font and upload for review. Reviewer checked and approved this item again.
But problem is from font owner who have sent us message and told to give payment .
But right now we have removed this font already and notify font issue to our buyers while updating this theme.

Font owner is continuously threatening us . In this situation what can we do now? Please advise @Envato

DMCA take-down notice was taking care of the issue but you have two options:

  • You could find a solution with the person as the item has been already used and sold on your projects. You can offer or discuss some amount of the money for the issues created.

  • If you’re unable to find a solution or have an agreement : You can inform them the item has been used by mistaken and ignore the messages. They may take the case to the court. In that case, you may be getting sued. Depending on your country, you may get into trouble.

I don’t think Envato would be getting involved in this situation and they won’t be able to suggest anything except discuss the issue with a lawyer.

If I’m not mistaken, there were few similar issues reported on the forum, you could try to search the posts and contact the author how they managed the situation and ask for suggestions.

If I delete this item then what will be happen?

Doesn’t matter if you delete the item or not as the issue has been solved ( the part removed )
Again, it depends on the author’s response. If he’s an author at Envato and if he’s threatening/blackmailing you, you can contact Envato support to report the situation and his account may be banned. ( as part of the terms and policy, threatening and blackmailing is not tolerated at Envato )

You won’t be able to find a solution here in any case, you should contact support ( create a ticket )

Font owner is not author here. Envato disabled our item for this font , then we removed and envato enabled our item. then now we are getting message from font owner
