I agree. Seems like more clarification is needed from the client.

I would say that standard exclusive license buyout should have a 10 000$ starting point though there might be a reason behind decreasimg or increasing it.
And I am saying about exclusive right to license, not exclusive rights to collect PRO rotalties which you should keep.

If they are offering this, they should send you an agreement that outlines everything, including the price.
Otherwise it’s sounds like they’re just some sort of scammers/amateurs.
Who does such a thing with 1 day left before deadline. This is ridiculous.
As someone mentioned above, when a tracks ends up being used by a serious film production company for a trailer (eg a movie commercial) - we’re talking high 4 figures to five figures.
