Am i the only one or are prices dropping down rapidly. I noticed quite a few items that are multidemo, woocommerce supported for $49?
Am i seeing wrong?

Buyer fee for WordPress theme is 12$, not 4$ like you have in your calculator
Then what will be the difference?? why anybody would remain exclusive if profits are same? i think there is some confusion here.
The profits arenāt the same. How much you make per sale, as a percebtage of the item price, is dictated by whether youāre exclusive or non-exclusive, and how much youāve sold. But that was the same before author driven pricing, and itās the same now that author driven pricing has been introduced. So in that respect, there is no difference between exclusive and non-exclusive authors when it comes to author driven pricing.
@purethemes Buyer fee is $12 for WP themes on ThemeForest, but $4 for WP on codecanyon.
My online tool is for now only for codecanyon ; as I proposed before if several users are interested I can add other marketplaces. Just let me know.
Oh, sorry! I didnāt notice that
Youāre welcome !
I think need a lower limit and a upper limit of price by category otherwise this is going to bad some WP items 120+ demo price is $19 same for others category.
I think ALL multi purpose 500+ mega demo super themes must be thrown into one category - multipurpose. Or delete all existing categories. Otherwise why do we need portfolio category, photography category and so on if any multipurpose theme can do whatever you want.
Also, i think Envato should add ability to see weekly popular items in any category. Because all popular items are multipurpose.
Sorry to go off topic,I can relate this to current envato situation. the story goes like this.
The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the water close to Japan has not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went further than ever. The further the fishermen went, the longer it took to bring the fish. If the return trip took more time, the fish were not fresh. To solve this problem, fish companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go further and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen fish. And they did not like the taste of frozen fish. The frozen fish brought a lower price. So, fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks, fin to fin. After a little thrashing around, they were tired, dull, and lost their fresh-fish taste. The fishing industry faced an impending crisis! But today, they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan .
How did they manage? To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks but with a small shark. The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh!
Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired and dull ? Basically in our lives, sharks are new challenges to keep us active. If you are steadily conquering challenges, you are happy. Your challenges keep you energized. Donāt create success and revel in it in a state of inertia. You have the resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Put a shark in your tank and see how far you can really go!
By this process, buyers will be much happy not the fish.
Shark - Continuous changes(challenges) from envato.
Fish - Authors
sorry envato
We want to reconsider the method of determining prices.
You must determine the minimum and maximum price of the product. The return of the old regime
There will be a price war. And the store will lose its strength.
Not to keep nagging, but there is a minimum price for each item, so saying there should be a minimum price is a bit pointless, as there already is. Iām sure that everyone knows that, so Iām assuming what youāre essentially saying, is that the current minimum is too low. So to add validity to your argument you should consider saying what the minimum should be, and why thatās what it should be.
Prices on CodeCanyon were very low to begin with when Envato determined the prices. Anyone trying to sell with lower prices will soon end up in a big problem: he will sell more, but earn much less. He will have many more support request, and the money earned will not be enough to sustain the business. Any author that want to be paid enough to maintain development and support will have to increase prices.
Since this system has been active a week only, I expect that authors will experiment with different prices to see how everything works, but after a while things will settle. In the past 2 years Envato did a lot of bad things in my opinion, but allowing authors to control prices is a great change that help authors in the long run.
Do you really need an extra explanation when you hear that a minimum price is needed? Isnāt it clear that $13 is too low for the minimum price? Why was Envato setting the minimum theme price to $39 before ADP? Why not $40? Whatās the point of this kind questions? Everybody is nervous, why are you increasing the temperature with pointless talk?
Youāre missing my point.
Do you really need an extra explanation when you hear that a minimum price is needed?
There is a minimum price.
Isnāt it clear that $13 is too low for the minimum price?
Then what should it be? And why?
It just seems that everybody is reacting the same⦠i.e. there should be a minimum price. There is a minimum price. The minimum price should be higher. What should it be then? Silence.
Sure, I can appreciate that everyone is nervous, but it just seems that everybody is automatically assuming that this is a terrible thing and itās the end of Envato as we know it. Give it time.
I see no silence. They are answering you like ā$25, $30ā¦ā or similar prices. And this time youāre asking āWhy?.. Why $25, not $24?ā⦠Whatās the point of this question?
I asked you that why was Envato setting the minimum theme price to $39 before ADP. Why not $40? Why Iām hearing silence from you now?
I have shared my point why the fixed pricing is good for this market Some thing happened to Envato?
@matthewcoxy have you guys considered that āPopular itemsā should now be changed to the actual sale value (item price * sales) instead of just sales? Looks like there are more and more items that are undervalued and creates that race to the bottom.
We all know how valuable is āPopular filesā list and I think that is should not be skewed by undervalued items (like fully featured WP themes sold for $19) that will change their price to the normal one once get to the popular list.
Cheers
Envato priced the items based on their research on the sweet spot when it comes to number of sales versus revenue. Iām not privy to that data, but Iām assuming they donāt just have a dartboard at HQ with random prices on it.
The point Iām trying to make is that people seem to be pulling random numberās out of the air with no research or sales history to back it up. Thatās why Iām asking why not $24 or why not $36. What are these numbers that people are suggesting based on?
Probably itās related to the total earning amount per month.
I mean, let say you make $3.000 per month with 60 sales and $50 item price. But in fact, it would be OK for you to earn $1.800 per month. Assuming the sales will be 60 again, setting the prices to $30 will work for you.
In this case, itās natural to say āThe minimum price should be $30.ā. The other guy can say $25 for example according to his earnings/sales.
I think youāll say āBut maybe $13 enough for him?!?!ā this time. This is where Envato is needed to jump in to find the middle way.
Thereās a price which we can rely on as a minimum: $39. Itās the lowest price set by Envato for a WordPress theme as we all know. Donāt know, maybe a bit less is acceptable, like $34 or $29 since Envato used to have a $5 gap between the prices (39, 44, 49, 54, 59, 63).
Then why is it not $24, $19, $14ā¦? This can not be answered. Thatās why thereās no need to ask.
