My worst month ever on AudioJungle, mates…
1 sale in 9 days too is a frightening stretch!
It’s like I am invisible in the search system, plus I uploaded a few new items, discounted my best sellers through the month and still abysmal number of sales!
No hope left, but of course I won’t remove my items, get gone or go non exclusive…
Until the end of the year it will be clear what Envato’s real intentions are, so let’s see how this plays out… I do have more new items, but they are being uploaded to other markets as we speak, so there’s hope that a new strategy and new markets will help me, but who knows!
When i reminisce how I planned to reach elite in 3 years from now I just get so sad…
This market used to bring me joy, now it’s just dissapointment!
Have a new great selling week, mates, I’m out!
Be careful what you wish for.
I have experienced it more than once:
A new promising site, looks great, works great. Surprisingly good sales for 6 months or so. Then the masses find out and migrate their portfolios. Sales go to near zero (spread out to everyone). Pretty much no site will grow the customer base at the same rate (or even close to) as the author base, once word is out that sales are good. Too many people now sit on 100-200 tracks just ready to go.
Very few sites are set up so that the early birds (who collect sales at first) will stay on top of the search engine, but even that won’t last forever.
It becomes a game of catching and riding the next wave, over and over again.
That being said:
2019 is currently +3% compared to 2018 average.
June 2019 is -24% of 2018 average, and June 2018 (which was almost exactly average).
But June 2019 is +6% compared to July 2018, which was the weak month last year. Hopefully it has just been switched around.
another sale before the ending of June (33)
good luck to all for July
I see your point and if there was a magical non exclusive button for all authors on AJ, I would for selfish reasons not push it. Non exclusive would be the only fair system though consider how Envato is working against authors on this site, but thats another topic…
I much rather be in the company of 200 great authors then 200 medium/not so great authors, and maybe I am putting to much belief in the review system of other sites, but that’s their job. Also the very majority of people just keep doing what they always have been doing, staying in their “comfort zone” (wether it’s comfortable or not).
I expect a very very low number of authors to reach out to me, and even lower number of people changing their exclusive status. I basically think it’s a healthy thing to share information and experiences, it’s not like anybody needs or necessarily should share their most precious inner business secrets I have for sure received great info by communicating with other authors here.
For me this was the worse month of the year, not even reaching the payout minimum. Probably just bad luck, but dissapointing nonetheless.
Welcome July and welcome Elements Banner. Can someone inform staff that this thing is still online?
Ah wait, it´s planned to be continued till end 2020 when 75% of buyers have been switched - or disappeared. I for one have decided to make an upload stop at 300 items. So 2 left.
I never had a featured track since 6 years. Got Elite author status without it - without only a featued “one track wonder sold 5.000 times”…
So why should I waiste time and creativity any longer here when my potenial buyers will be lead to a chintzy discounter webpage that destroys trust and reliabillity.
No more comments - I´m finished with it.
Like me and the rest 97% members. But some have 3 (or am I confusing something?). A huge sales like: 1000, 5000, 10000 is completely unrealistic. It’s not worth your attention because it’s “bull sheet” .
Just recently I did not have a single track that reached at least 100 sales here. Then one of them had some viral effect outside of Audiojungle and now it has 400 sales, point is that here it was sold a few times in six months.
Not a single sale. July is completely dead.
I could not believe my eyes, there are dozens of tracks named like this!!
Searching for hiphop, the same exist, but someone went even further:
“Hip Hop Is Hip Hop for Hip Hop?”
Is Hip hop for hip hop or is hip hop for Hiphopopotamus?
Below average month for me. The good things:
- 150% revenue compared to June 2018
- I had a sale on my birthday and moreover it was a fanfare sfx!
beautiful is beautiful
Hapyness has Harmony on July…
2 SALES!!!
This is wonderfull!!
I was aware that things were bad on Audiojungle, but this is a whole new level of “bad”.
I do sales in many companies except aj
Unfortunately the sales at other sites are not even good at all (same AJ)
I think the point this industry has gone is only the subscription system
Maybe in the near future there will be no companies left that do not switch to the subscription system
I think this is a domino effect
Someone started this system (subscription) and broke the competition
and this system draws everyone in like a black hole
We are having a really hard time
I hope god help us
after a really good june, for me july isn’t started yet
ahah
Summer break has startet…drastically.
Yes, unfortunatelly, absolutely dead.
It’ll mean a lot of hard work for a small amount of composers, to keep up with demand and still receive a payout large enough to keep them interested.
