Use of popular melodies for Xmas items

Hi there!
Anyone knows about using popular melodies (i.e. Jingle Bells) on Christmas items? is it allowed or is preferred to create “new” melodies?
Any suggestion is welcome, thank you guys

You can use the classic christmas songs as long as they are in the public domain.

thanks Hyperprod! this list is useful…i see Jingle Bells is Public domain.
I am skeptical on doing the Xmas item because i think there will be like a “million” items named Christmas LOL
You guys have ideas?
