I started selling item on Code Canyon from July 2014, and have 7 items approved on Code Canyon, And few more coming soon… But the sales of some of my items Is not meeting my expectation.
I try to provide the cleanest code, up to date documentation, and quick support also, we have got some good reviews from buyers but then I see that other Items which are similar to mine have more number of sales and gets sold fast… I just wanted to know where m I lagging… what can I do more to attract buyers? we have provided updates also to some of the Items but yet sales are not up to mark… Any experience Authors please give some useful tips on the same.
You are selling Android apps, and generally they don’t have so many sales as some other categories here. Top selling Android apps have only 400 or so sales, and most have much less. There is not many apps available and that is good for sellers since there is less competition, but the there is less demand too. JavaScript, WordPress, PHP and CSS are best selling categories on CodeCanyon, all other categories have only small portion of sales in comparison.
I doubt that you can do much in terms of promotion to increase sales with Android apps only, maybe you can try to make some items for more popular categories, that might help in bringing exposure to Android apps too.
The suggestion I can give you is making your design and code quality the best and leave the marketing to the Envato marketplace. The buyers in this marketplace are smart. They know which plugins are good and worth buying. As long as the quality of your plugin is good, you will see the sales number go up.
