Good design starts from good typography. Just read the article provided and make sure all your elembts comply proportionally with your vertical grid (based on font line heigt)
In perfect typographical worls paddings between design elements and design sections(micro and macro spacing) are related to basic font line height. Human eye “detects” good proportions and design looks consistent and well balanced. If you dont keep that proportions strategy you loose spacing balance and consistency. It’s easy.
