Hey guys, I’ve been thinking about joining Identifyy for my stock music and have some questions about the service. I tried asking some of these questions through the message box on their website but got no response. I may try again but meanwhile I think it would also be useful to hear some responses from people on here who use the service.
1 - Can you delete songs or do they stay there forever or as long as your membership?
2 - If you can delete songs, would you be able to move them over to another CID platform if you wanted to or is that against their terms? Are you only allowed to stay with them for all of your CID registered tracks?
3 - Do they have good/responsive customer service?
4 - Are you able to edit track information once it’s on there, such as whether or not a track is registered with a P.R.O?
5 - I know that when claims are made on youtube it will often say the claim is made by [company] on behalf of [name], like ‘Identifyy on behalf of John Smith’ for example. Is there a way to make sure that whatever name is put here isn’t my real name and is instead a psuedonym/artist name?
Hope all of these make sense. I was also looking at joining more distribution-based services like CDBaby for content ID but it looks like CDBaby doesn’t let you manually remove claims from videos etc which seems to be against AJ’s rules.
I’ve seen positive feedback about Identifyy on here, although interestingly enough trustpilot seems to have some pretty bad reviews for them (then again usually trustpilot has a lot of negative reviews).
I also had a query about a possible way of avoiding problems with using samples in tracks uploaded to Content ID but I think I’ll make a separate post about that later.
