Question about Tax Information for a US Citizen who permanently moved to Marshall Islands.

Hello all. I have a questions about the tax information regarding the W-8 and the W-9. I was born in the US so I am a US citizen, but I also have citizenship here in the Marshall Islands as that is my ethnic background and am now living here. Marshall Islands currently has an international agreement via the Compact of Free Association with the US (in case this info may be relevant to this post). I have zero plans to move back to the states. I have only recently moved back here in 2018. So I am not sure which form I should fill out. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Corrie

You’ll most likely want to talk with a tax advisor about this. My understanding is that U.S. taxes follow you regardless of which country you reside in (even permanently) so long as you remain a citizen. But I’m by no means a tax expert and I’m sure there are policies and exceptions that can benefit you here.
