Problems with Envato Api

Hi! I’ve a problem with my Api and I can’t update one of my themes. I don’t know how to fix or where I can find help, so I’ll try here.

A few month ago, my website, stop letting me upgrade the theme. It said the token was not right so I create a new one (but I didn’t save the one I had). After all the personal tokens I had in https://build.envato.com/ I’ve started deleting them. I don’t know what mess I’ve done but I just cant get a correct token.

I have an “app token”, should I delete it and create a new one? I’d appreciate any help.

If you purchased the theme from Envato market then to get one click update features you can use Envato Market WordPress Plugin. This plugin helps customers receive updates to their premium WordPress Themes & Plugins purchased through Envato Market (ThemeForest & CodeCanyon).

The above Envato Market WordPress Plugin will require Envato API personal token.

Envato API personal token:

You can generate Envato API personal token here . Please make sure you set required Token permissions. It may prompt you to sign into your Envato account

Before you create a new token the following 3 permissions should be selected from the list of permission available on the Token page.

  1. View and search Envato sites (checked by default)
  2. Download the user’s purchased items
  3. List purchases the user has made

Just to clarify: The build.envato.com website allows you to create two different kinds of tokens: app tokens, and personal tokens. You need to create a personal token specifically. An app token won’t work for your needs.
