I am also having similar error. I am running Metro Mobile theme on Godaddy. When I am trying to import Demo_Content.xml the Wordpress Importer gives 404

"Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin/admin.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

for wp-admin/admin.php?import=wordpress&step=2

It would be great if you could help me out.

I do have the same problem and message with my godaddy account

Did anyone find a solution for this?

Traditionally, Demo Content for wordpress is marked with the extension “.xml”

Not all themes include Demo content.

Also make sure that your maximum upload file size is above the actual ‘.xml’ file size.

If your .xml file is 12mb and your upload limit is 10mb - that’s a problem.

Also having the same issue with godaddy and installing X-theme demo xml

Same issue right here. Godaddy wordpress hosting and videotube theme.

Having the same issue with a Wordpress theme demo content. Godaddy Managed Wordpress hosting, still using the temporary URL they setup.

I did try making the theme and the child theme active, for the attempt, but it did not seem to matter.

I did call GoDaddy. They took the xml and they said it ran smoothly at their end. Still not able to figure out how but now I have the content on my site. Try calling them.

I’m having the same trouble with Shore theme. Will call GoDaddy in the morning, but keen to hear if anyone has another solution please. Thanks in advance.

My problem simply solved itself after about 24 hours. I wish I knew the reason as that could help others, but I didn’t do anything. Actually, I did do something - I installed an alternative XML importer plugin, tried using it, it didn’t work. So I uninstalled it and then tried the first ‘Wordpress Import’ again and it worked.

upgrade to X-theme 3.0.1 solved my problem

Thanks guys, I went to bed, tried agin in the morning and now I’m getting a “pageok” error. Seems this is a not uncommon GoDaddy issue. Bah!

@dancapp - If you’re with GoDaddy, I think the 24 hour fix might be becuase GoDaddy run backups every 24 hours and I wonder if that process fixes the permissions or something.

I’m having the same issue re: wordpress theme “lawyers”, godaddy, installing demo content. The xml file is much smaller than the allowed size, so that is not a problem. I don’t know what I can update when I just downloaded everything.

Yeah I’m with godaddy.
