Plugin could not be installed on WordPress

I received the following message as soon as I tried to install the plugin on my wordpress. Please advise:

Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin installation failed

Assuming that this is definitely a Wordpress plugin then almost certainly you are trying to install the whole download and not only the relevant plugin folder/zip

Assuming you need to install WordPress plugin not theme!

Please go to download page Downloads. You can download ‘Installable WordPress file only’ from there and install from wp-admin=>Plugins=>Add New.

If ‘Installable WordPress file only’ option not exist then try the following:
You have to install the plugin zip not the full download (All files & documentation) zip. Please unzip the main full download (All files & documentation) and then locate the installable plugin zip file within it. Luckily most developers clearly label their files, so it should be pretty easy to find. you have to install that plugin zip from wp-admin=>Plugins=>Add New.
