Pakistani Authors: Is Tax ID same as CNIC?

I have read in the following link that CNIC replaces tax number starting from November. Does it mean that we have to use our CNIC number in the W-8 Tax ID Number field?

If not, from where to get the tax number? Thanks.

I believe even then you need to register as a Tax Payer.
If you want to register online, you can do this by going to this link.

Click E Registration in menu to get registered as a Tax Payer.

As of now Pakistan IT exports are tax-free.
Unless Ishaq Dar comes with something new in the upcoming budget.

I got this email today:

A statement for Australian Royalty Taxes withheld is now available. This statement shows taxes withheld from your Envato earnings and remitted to the Australian Tax Office during the 2017/2018 Australian financial year, which covered the period 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018.
