Could you modify the license system so that the license duration starts from the activation date rather than the purchase date? For example real case, if I bought a license last year but only activated it now, the support period should start from the activation date, not the purchase date. This way, the support wouldn’t have expired before the license was actually used.
What would happen if you purchase the item today and activate 5 years later? Does the author still have to provide the support for you? It doesn’t work that way…
If you buy the item before using it, you won’t have any issue. If you buy the item before using it and the support period is over, you could extend it.
