Installing a theme on a working environment : 2 licences ?

Hello,
I recently bought a theme with one licence.
I want to develop the website for my client in my own domain name in order to be able to show him the evolution of the site “in real time”.
I would like to install the theme in my client domain name when the website will be ok.
Do I need 2 licences ? one for the working environment and one for the final website ?
If I activate the code once, will I be able to activate it a second time ?

I believe that one license is ok as long as you fully remove the first version when creating the final copy.

Registering plugins etc can become tricky doing this so I suggest checking everything with the author first
