Congrats on your decision, i can’t say that i am happy but i’m glad to hear that if it’s your final decision and your wish. As an elder author and the member of the Envato community i want personally to thank you for changing my life from the roots. I hope new CEO will be 70% as you were be, in these hard times. I wish you all the best @collis and stay safe there, i know Victoria is now facing with lockdown during COVID 19 and it’s hard to live, even work…
Wow, well done @collis. A hard decision, I’m sure. It feels weird saying but I’m proud of you. You’ve lead us well for so long! You’ve built something that helps me live my dream. Thank you.
Thank you very much @collis (it’s a pity, Collis that you’re leaving from the post of CEO) for creating such an amazing platform as Envato Market and promoting it as much as possible, that now many people from different countries know it and regard it as the most reliable and affordable and with the highest quality items digital goods! We are very glad (as authors) that we have such an opportunity from the comfort of our home (or from our music studio), how to make money together with Envato on our hobby (or full time)!
P.S. the moderators deleted my yesterday’s post from this topic (if it remained in the archive and/or you saw it, please answer my questions).
Seems like we are about to witness a revolutionary changes, Congrats on the B Corporation hope this helps all of us to achieve more financial and none-financial balance
Thanks for skillfully guiding the Envato ship and for all you that have done for the creative community over many years, Collis. Wishing you the best in the next chapter!
Thanks everybody for your support and well wishes! It’s such a strange feeling for me over here, and I really appreciate everybody’s kind words!
It’s such a humbling feeling to be part of so any talented people’s lives and journeys. Sometimes over here at our internal All Hands meetings I like to remind everyone that with or without Envato, our authors would have been successful. We need to be really proud that you’ve let us play a part in that success. Certainly I’m enormously proud of that.
To reply a couple of the questions people flagged directly:
@Creattive, I totally agree. This was a big concern for me as well and it’s one of the things I’ve really been prioritising – finding someone with the right mindset and set of values. Someone who won’t just focus on the bottom line, but rather would balance profit and purpose (including the wellbeing of the community).
For what it’s worth, I believe I’ve found someone who is as close to a founder in mindset as it’s possible to find!
@Schiocco, thanks for the question! I’ll be back in the forums once the new CEO has started and I’ll get them to share a bit more about our future plans, and how they see the potential for Envato.
Thanks @CleanMagicAudio! It looks like your earlier comment was about a personal drop in sales, and my earlier point about achieving record community earnings. Individual earnings will always vary from author to author, no matter how much we’d like to see every author breaking sales records. Please keep in mind that there are many thousands of authors currently selling through our sites.
We do keep a close eye on total author earnings across all our products though, and those are currently at their highest point ever. But I also understand that at some level to an individual author, it doesn’t really matter if overall earnings are increasing, if their portion isn’t. And in that sense, I just wanted to say, I understand. I’m always hopeful that we can grow things at a rate where everyone feels they’re seeing the upside, but as you can imagine that’s rather hard!!
Thank you again everybody! I’ll be back soon with a new CEO to introduce to you all
