I filled up W8 form but I still see US Backup Withholding Tax fee on my statement.

Hi everyone! I’m Non-US author. As per Envato tax rule, I filled up W8 form but I still see US Backup Withholding Tax fee on my statement for non US sale. Is there anything that can be done to avoid US Backup Withholding Tax fee for Non US sales ? Please help!!!

Depends how long ago you filled it out and what treaty your country has with the US

When you go to the settings tab -->Tax Info, you should see a message stating that you have successfully submitted your tax information.

If you don’t see this message, well it means that for some reason, your submission did not go through and you should resubmit.

If you do see this message and yet you still get US BackUp Withholding Tax on your non-US sales, then something is wrong and you should contact support.

Once you have submitted the W8 you shouldn’t be taxed on your non-US sales, regardless of any tax treaty your country may have with the US.
