Best computer setup to process large Actions

Hello all,

This is my first post and I need to know if any of you are utilizing the power of XEON processors to accomplish the rendering of some of the larger Actions that are here. I have already researched the ad/disadvantages of i7 compared to Xeon for standard Photoshop work but I really want to know about the action processing. Currently some of the actions I am using take 10-15 minutes to render. I have i7 2600, 16GB, 2xSSD, mediocre video card.
I am currently deciding on upgrading the computer and would like feedback as to speed increases running some of the more complex GraphicRiver actions like Fury2.

Hope someone can direct me.

Thanks in advance.

Carl

Hello Carl!

I think your specs are on point for any Photoshop action rendering. I’m currently running an AMD Phenom 2 x6 1035T, only 6gb DDR 3 and 1 SSD. When you say “mediocre” video card, what are you running? I noticed an insane difference when I upgraded to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 with the 4gb DDR5 built in. It’s definitely not the best card on the market, but for the price I was shocked. I went from 30min rendering times to about 5min. I have a weaker computer set up than you do and render everything fine now. I would check into a good graphics card. The more built in memory the better. Just my opinion.
