An important message from Envato regarding the current environment

Use your time at home for work

Now it is hard time for the market (salesā€¦) - but when this is end we will face little changed reality which is going to change further - there will be more digital world than ever before, also new businesses are going to born.

Perfect time to start brainstorm what changes we can expect and what new is coming because something new is coming for sure.

This is the time when new niches will born - but I donā€™t want to ruin the fun you can have with predictions so Iā€™m going to stop here

Stay safe at home and use this time good - this will payoff.

peace!

Survive with 5$ dollar track, elements, unfair and constant rejection. Yep. Nevermind, I manage to make sale at 59$ on other marketplace with the same rejected track.

Thanks Collis for reaching out to the community.
Everyone please try and be respectful and reasonable, Collis didnā€™t have to reach out.

For me personally, Audiojungle is 95% of my income. The rest being AdRev. Audiojungle has given me everything anyone could want over the last 7 years. A 6 figure income, a beautiful house, a car, and the ability to create music day in and day out. Its all any musician could want. I have been blessed enough to where I could afford to pay the bills and my wife could watch our new born full time without the worry of working.
But like many of you, my income has dropped significantly and unfortunately Iā€™m moving into my parents upstairs this weekend. With the falling sales trend, coupled with the Virus/Economy I think its the best thing I can do at this time. My parents canā€™t afford their mortgage so we will pay half and its a win win for now.

I want to say thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone at Audiojungle. Its been one amazing ride. I am so grateful for the last 7 years you have no idea. I succeeded. I made it. And although our income may still go down I can always say that I ā€œmade itā€. It means the world to me, and its all because of Audiojungle.

I have no thoughts about how to make things better other than making all 2:00min+ tracks $20 again as well as pulling the cord on elements. If its not broke donā€™t fix it and I feel Audiojungle was doing way better in the years before. But I obviously donā€™t know the numbers/market as well as Envato. I understand that Envatos competitors all went to subscription based models. So fight fire with fire guess.
I do think that encouraging competition in a level playing field yields the highest quality/useful tracks. And that is really what it all boils down to for a buyer to come back again and again. A reasonably priced phenomenal track. Personally I donā€™t think I would have tried so hard again and again to make the best tracks I possibly could if the prices were $5 back in 2013. Add elements to that and I donā€™t see new authors seeing the value in putting in the effort to get better. Theres just not as much visible incentive. Whereas when I started I saw successful composers on Audiojungle and I thought if I could get as good as they are, then I can make a living!

But recently I invested $60,000 to record a live orchestra and put those tracks up on Audiojungle and they are my lowest performing tracks. I donā€™t know if that is because of the steady decline or because they are a little more ā€œemotionalā€ than my other ones. As of now it was a very bad investment, but hopefully Audiojungle can come out of this stronger than ever, for everyone involved.

Again, I am so grateful for the time I was allowed to create music and I hope going forward I will still be able to.
I hope everyone stays safe during this difficult time and that the economy wonā€™t hit digital sales too hard.

Hello @Collis

Sounds is really great that you wan to help author to get some more money.
If you can back ā€œNew Itemsā€ as on top that will be really helpful to get some money for poor author.

Giant author always make couple of thousand dollar each month but small author always struggle to get $150-200 dollar.

If you can, that will be really helpful.

Thank you for your consideration.

While a drop in authors fees is impractical and unlikely (although it would be nice!), a move to twice monthly payments, for the next few months, shouldnā€™t be prohibitively complicated or costly for Envato to implementā€¦ and could make a positive impact to authors. I.e. Sales to the 30th/31st get paid on the 15th, sales to the 15th get paid on the 30th/31st. Maybe reducing the withdrawal limits as well.

Stop marketing Elements on AudioJungle as that will help authors get through this crises.

Not Videohive or Themeforestā€¦ or any of the other marketplaces?

Everywhere but in reality that ainā€™t going to happen.

Thanks for these questions. Iā€™m Cam Gough and I lead our Content Team here at Envato. Let me start by sharing what we are seeing happen right now and then Iā€™ll give some thoughts on where it might all go.

For Market overall (Themeforest, Videohive, Audiojungle etc) things were steady / normal till the first week in March when we saw a dip and then a rebound across our Market sites. Overall we are slightly down on where we were before the start of March. Looking beyond the overall result we can see some interesting differences between our different sites. The outliers are Codecanyon and Themeforest which currently are at or above their peaks for this year with a distinct upward trend, and Graphicriver which has not recovered yet from the dip after the first week in March. We are looking into the Codecanyon and Themeforest shift to see if there are any trends in particular content types.

Elements has continued to grow its active subscriber base week on week throughout March. Being a subscription, any impact from the crisis may take some more time to play out.

Medium to long term, it is very hard to predict what the impacts of the crisis will be. It is clear that economies around the world have entered an extraordinarily challenging period. Whilst this may suggest a tougher time ahead for Market and Elements, we may also find there is demand growth from people round the world trying to move businesses online, working to start new businesses, and, when the crisis passes, investing in marketing their business to regain business lost. There is likely to be an increased focus from customers on value - seeking high quality content for lower prices. This may see a growth in demand for offerings such as Envato Elements and increased sensitivity to prices in Market.

I hope that has been helpful.

Does that mean in the end Elements and low priced items will prevail?
What about the authors who are not included in Elements?

Not at all. It simply means that due to the current global crisis, it is expected to see buyers purchasing sensibly, with care for quality and price at the same time. This doesnā€™t imply the death of Elements or that the Marketplaces will stop selling quality products at regular prices. In essence, I believe things will stay the same with an increased sensitivity for ā€œimpulseā€ purchases. Makes sense?

Yes. Thanks.
Letā€™s hope for the best for everyone. Both in health and business.

Indeed it is true!

At least I see an increase in income for me in the second half of March (at regular prices). I think the less panic the better! :slightly_smiling_face:

Same for me, second half of March started much better than first half

Is there a possible way that some of us can make payments next month. Because of COVID-19 Iā€™m not able to get the usual transfer from the organisation that pays me.

To give a positive view on the situation, here is my opinion:

Chances are good that we can in fact see an increase in sales due to all of this. Stock and template market is the cheap alternative to custom work, all the corporations that had big budgets for custom handmade stuff and that now have to lower their budget may have to look into our market now.

If your livelihood is in creating websites, videos or any other form of content, you wonā€™t stop with that, especially cause that is perfectly doable from home. Most of our customers are using our stuff in the digital world, I doubt many stock photos end up being printed, nor do many videohive items end in the big cinema.
We are providing the best bang for the buck for the small content creators that work from home and send out their messages from their quarantines. People watch, read and listen to these contents now more than ever.

I see this as a big chance for the stock market.

Hello @collis. Glad you posted here message on some of the hottest topic this year. But honestly speaking, what made huge impact on us, old and faithful Elite authors is the closed doors of Elements for most of us. Just check this - me, @LumenMedia, @BlueFoxMusic, @RedLions, this list is huge. And we talking about top 40 Elite authors. Those who were invited now feed from our success and Elements promo on every Envato corner. If you want to help us, deal each case personally please. Many of us filled application multiple time without even any answers about when and how or why. We lost our income because of this. Help if you really want to help.

At least for Elements I can definitely see this as being true. Itā€™s inexpensive and thereā€™s no reason to be as selective.

For others, I agree with this statement:

Either way overall as a whole I strongly believe weā€™ll be fine, especially after the fact where we may see a rise in sales.

Hi @LumenMedia! I agree with you. This is surprising, but authors who have a status here, who have worked hard and hard on products for years to sell it here, authors in which the company envato can be sure like no other - were not worthy to participate in the market of ā€œelementsā€, without which either help or an explanation of why we are outsiders.
