I am planning to launch a website that functions as an educational course directory. The idea is to allow instructors and others to register their courses in the appropriate category, provide detailed descriptions, and let visitors leave reviews and ratings for each course. Additionally, users should be able to filter and list courses within each category using various criteria, making it easier for them to browse and select the courses that suit their needs.
Essentially, I want a directory-style site. However, the problem I’m facing is that most available directory templates are designed for general advertisements, real estate, automotive, or business listings, and they often rely on map features. My site, on the other hand, is focused solely on educational courses.
I’m having trouble deciding whether to choose a specialized directory template that fits my needs or to use a multipurpose theme like Astra and add directory functionalities with dedicated plugins.
Could someone please guide me on which approach would be better?
