Hello👋 Envato Community, I purchased the Marketbob - Multi-Vendor Digital Marketplace script, and while I appreciate its core functionality, I’m finding the default customization options quite limiting. I’ve encountered challenges modifying the existing design and am looking for more extensive theme options. Specifically, I have two key questions for the community:

  1. Experienced Marketbob Theme Developers Wanted: Are there any developers here with significant experience designing custom themes for Marketbob? I’m interested in potentially commissioning a completely new theme to improve the marketplace’s visual appeal and user experience. If you have experience with Marketbob’s specific structure and limitations, please reach out!
  2. Theme Licensing & Selling: I’m also exploring the possibility of creating and selling Marketbob themes on Envato. As I’m not the original author of the Marketbob script, what are the legal considerations and permissions I need to be aware of before developing themes for commercial distribution? Are there any limitations imposed by the Marketbob license that would prevent this?

If you have purchased a regular licence then you can adapt the theme/script to your own needs. In that case you can commission a developer to assist you in making a custom theme for your own website.

If you are stuck on modifying the existing design, then my next point in answer to question 2

In that case you might potentially find it hard to create new themes for the script, and even if you did, then you would probably need to contact the original author and/or Envato to make sure you did not fall foul of any legal issues.

You definitely need permission from the original author if you are planning on making a theme that incorporates their plugin - aside from anything managing any future updates will need to be integrated carefully
