Project Hard rejection - Need help...

Well I got the rejection note:

Unfortunately your submission PAPER - Responsive HTML5 Theme for Bloggers isn’t ready for ThemeForest and cannot be resubmitted as it did not meet our minimum requirements for quality and/or Envato Market policies. In order for submissions to be considered for sale they must be of high aesthetic and technical quality, unique to our library and cannot be in violation of Envato’s policies.

Regrettably the Help and Quality Teams are unable to offer a critique or feedback on your rejected submission.

Please see our Help Center for more information: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/204067134

Our Review team also provided these comments:

Your item does not provide the necessary design quality for this category. As higher quality items become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality. While I’d be able to provide feedback as to how to get this approved, I can only do after it has crossed a certain threshold, quality wise. I’m sorry to say this isn’t there yet.

So I am wondering what I need to do to improve my site… Please any and all suggestions are appreciated as I worked hard on the typography (perhaps need to work harder) and made sure all the code was W3C compliant along with making sure that the documentation was formatted and clean. Nonetheless I have deficiencies that I need to work on… So please give me some guidance on what I can change…

Thanks.

any suggestion would be helpful

On a positive note the above reply usually means you are closer to a soft reject.(no guarantees though, I got similar msg just before soft reject)

As I previously told you it lacks the finesse to be a premium theme.

There are issues of hierarchy, spacing, content separation and fine tuning of typo etc.

So I thought I will tweak a little, since I am also in the process of developing a similar minimal blog theme.
You can have a look at your paper template altered by me here.
See if you find some subtle difference that i have made.

Thanks for your mockup…Much appreciated ! I see the subtle changes… I can do that. One thing that I did see on my site was that I had a “url” to my site and that is something that is disallowed according to what I read in the comments from the reviewer. Also there were the “reply” buttons on the comment section that were not on there. Apart from that I have “Themeify” as part of the site users (again this could be deemed "self-promotion). So I think that those things were also a contributing factor to non-acceptance. Being my first time submitting, I will need to make sure of all the slightest details… My bad… Nonetheless with the changes that you have suggested along the ones that I have seen myself (I am adding a gallery also) I hope that it will make it sufficient for approval…

That being said… I really do appreciate your input and effort that you have made to help me out… THANKS!

DL

Welcome and all the best for your determination.

Working on the changes as we speak and will resubmit today.… I am thinking of changing the category towards “Personal Blogs” instead of creative… I think that category suits the project…

What do you think ?

DL

Yeah it should go to personal blog

Agreed… I should be done with a few hours

Add something unique also.your mantra

You mean GO UNIQUE or GO HOME… That is my mantra for sure!!

I will make sure that it goes somewhere on the site… watch out for it…Hahaha…

it must be the font type, it’s too narrow

I think you should increase all spacing
