Handling Previews for WordPress Themes

Hi guys,

I’m new to theme development on Themeforest and I’m curious on how you guys handle the previews of your WordPress themes.

There are two ways I was thinking of for showing previews.

  1. I could just use different WordPress installations on a sub domain with sub directories. But this takes a lot of space on my web hosting when I get a lot of themes with a lot of different demos running.

  2. I could use WordPress multi-site and manage the different previews from my main website’s admin panel.I don’t really like this solution though, because I’ll have all plugins on my main site activated on every site.

So what do you think is best for theme previews?

Does anyone know a better solution to show theme previews?
What do you use to show your theme’s previews?

I hope someone could help me out.

Thanks in advance!

Multi site you can have sites you have 2 options with plugins:

  • network activated which is they are installed and activated on every site by default
  • site active - each individual site can activate which plugin they want

I have a multisite with 50+ sites and all have their own themes and plugons.

Oh I didn’t know that, I’ll take a look at it.

Do you use this for theme previews as well?

Thank you
