Side by side from pen tool (uncolored) and shape builder (colored)
Feedback: pen tool seems easier to use and easier to get rounded corners. However shape builder allows for smoother rounded shapes. i think I will play around with using them interchangeably.
Also added is the logo exercise which was not very pretty. I had some trouble deleting the empty space whilst maintaining the outline of the little M. this resulted in a line under the M which would not be deleted with shape builder - ended up removing it with the eraser.
This is my first time using AI so it’s not as good as some of the other ones I saw, but that’s why I’m taking the course to get better! LOL!! I really want to get into motion graphics and graphic design. Thank you for offering this free course.
These are my letters I created in Ai. I thought it would be easy to make the W after having done the M, but I couldn’t seem to get it right. I finally just made a M and then flipped it.
This is the assignment for using the curve tool. I found it really cool to gain more control over how the shape could look. It will take lots of practice to be quick at it though.
I just found the illustrator tut on YouTube and I had to pop in to say THANK YOU to Dan Scott and Envato because it was so helpful in helping me get comfortable with the program and gave me confidence that I can learn it and do the things I want to do!
