I both buy and produce media and I checked out the author hub, but there was information I wish it had that I think would serve both authors and customers in the future.
When I’m working on a project for a client and I can’t find what I’m looking for on Envato, here’s what I don’t do: contact any Envato author or agent in any remote capacity whatsoever. Envato doesn’t have something, and they never find out what they don’t have.
instead: I go to a another site, like iStock, Pond5, Adobe Stock, ShutterStock and so on, buy from them, and forget about Envato entirely.
If Envato can make it easy for would-be customers to give feedback on what they couldn’t find, like maybe a pop-up after two pages of scrolling that says “Couldn’t find what you’re looking for? Feel free to let us know!”, they could take this feedback and integrate it into the author hub so that authors can react to and produce non-generic and more specialized content that people are looking for.
