i’m disagree with ADP without minimal limit for price. Leave current price for item and we are can rise price up for best point.

Fixed Envato’s fee will be higher than current fee for Elite Authors? For example, now we have 15.40$ from 22$ AE projects, so if the Envato’s fee will be higher than 6.60$, we must increase the price for each template to achieve same income (theoretically). Thank you

No, you’re good because your projects are not those trending flat designs and they are more challenging to create, so nobody will copy them. But for those that create flat designs, it will be impossible to keep normal prices, because others can easily copy them and sell for a lower price.
It will work only in some cases, because a lot of styles of designs on vh, no matter how well done, are easy to copy: flat designed especially.
They won’t raise %, they will charge fixed $ price. Meaning, no matter how little pennies authors make, they are safe.

It’s a tough one with AE projects as there’s such a large range of prices. Worpress themes were $59 before the change, so the 20% buyers fee was $11.80. When they implemented the fixed buyers fee, it was set at $12… so a slight increase.
As a result, with an $8 HD clip and a 20% buyers fee at $1.60 the fixed buyers fee will likely be $2. But for AE? Prices range from $6 to $65 so it’s going to be hard to set a fixed price that will be fair for all different types. Maybe there will be different fixed prices within the AE category, depending on categories within that category. If not, then those $6 items might have a fixed fee of approaching $10… so the price would have to be increased to $14 or more, to earn the same amount.
I’m sure we’ll find out sooner or later… but sooner would be preferable so people can start planning ahead.

This is a common misconception. Yes, the fixed buyers fee does shield them from the negative effects of price dumping somewhat, but to say that they are safe whatever the price is, isn’t really accurate. Example on a new exclusive VideoHive author…
Currently $8 for HD and 20% buyers fee. Envato earn $4.
With ADP $8 for HD and a projected $2 buyers fee. Envato earn $4.25
With ADP $3 for HD and a projected $2 buyers fee. Envato earn $2.37
So if everyone sets their prices to rock bottom, and the authors earn pennies… total Envato revenue goes down by 45%. Not entirely safe.

Good flat design with animation is not so easy to create. I tried several times and failed.
But yes, you are right the ordinary flat design is very easy to create and copy. But why should it cost something if every newbie can make it?
Sorry, but if 1000 people can make the same thing, why it should cost a same price as items that can create only 5 people?
They will add fixed fee above the price. No matter how high or low your own price will be, they still get their money.

I think Envato is doing this to make a huge sweep over the marketplace.
This is only a theory bu here is how I see things:
What’s going to happen:
- The 102535 slideshows, lower thirds and logo reveal clones are going to low their prices to have more sales.
- The unique and best seller items will keep the same price, raise it or do some sales time to time to get new customers by doing some social media marketing or advertising. You don’t really want to low the price of something popular. (Apple or Nike don’t do that …)
- A few months later the 102535 cloned items we saw upper will be all at 4-8$ and won’t sell more than before (like the same used books on Amazon you can find at 1$,1.1$,1.2$…) --> they decide to go on Elements to try it or to get new income.
Thats the way I see things, Envato is afraid of the monster they created, it’s becoming very difficult to find the item you need on the search engine. They cannot do the housework by their own by deleting or changing existing prices, it would take years and authors would cry and scream (and they should)…
The solution is to give the power to the authors to decide if they want to raise, keep, low there price or go to Elements.
Believe me ADP and Elements come together, thats how I see things.
This could raise the quality of the items all over Videohive and give a huge choice of items at Elements.
I am afraid like you guys about all this, I have a best seller item on Videohive and shouldn’t be afraid…
All this can go in the right way and improve Videohive and Elements. I am a positive guy, I don’t think Envato wants to kill us, let’s wait and see if I am right.

Their percentage should also vary with the price set by the author.

Your argument contradicts itself. Good flat design is hard to create and flat design can create even a noobie so it should be cheap.
The problem is that it is hard to create an unique flat design, but it is easy to copy it, cause all the thinking has been done. Even if the copy is a little inferior to the original, buyers will choose the cheaper option.

More interesting how it will be implemented. Author set the price and envato add their fee above or cut this fee from existing price.

Here’s how it happened to me: I was one of the first to create flat minimalist lower thirds: I spent my time on thinking what to create next, and then experimented with lower thirds style. After I uploaded the project a lot of flat lower thirds popped up, some better some worse, but they have an advantage: what works has been figured out for them.
But was not angry, just the way business works, and my project had decent amount of sales. But with the new pricing, some authors will be able to take all the sales with lower prices, cause they didn’t have to spend time on thinking.
