Is there anyone here that can explain about the email that I just got today?
A trader is an individual who engages in the buying and selling of assets in any financial market, either for themself or on behalf of another person or institution. basically it`s reseller.
If you have an office or a team - you are trader, because basically you reselling other peoples work who working on you.
Solo authors mostly, who working from home are not traders.
If I don’t have an office and I work alone to sell my assets on envato as a side job, for that I choose not to be a trader?
I also got an email to confirm whether I am a trader or not?
I haven’t filled it in either, I just sell digital assets at home and make it myself, whether I am a trader or not to fill it in, please guide me to fill it in, thank you @KingDog
Do not mislead people.
Yes
If I am not in the EU, does this apply to me?
I’ve never heard of this, and this is all about as clear as mud.
If you are registered as an entrepreneur in your country, you should select YES and confirm Trader status. If you do not pay taxes, but declare your income as an individual every year, you should indicate NO.
I have a few questions regarding the Trader Status declaration under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). I’m hoping to get some insights from those who might have a similar situation. Here are my questions:
- Does being a non-EU author affect the Trader status requirement for me?
I am not based in the EU, but I would like to know if this impacts my obligation to confirm Trader status. - I primarily earn my income from Envato Elements, with minimal activity on Envato Market.
I upload items to Envato Market, but this is only a minor side project. My main source of income comes from Envato Elements. Does this mean I should apply as a Trader or not? - If I confirm as a Trader, will my contact information be made public?
I have concerns about privacy, especially since the EU regulations require contact details to be displayed. If I choose Trader status, will this affect my personal contact information on Envato Elements or only on Envato Market?
I answered yes because of the following:
- Operate as a freelancer, agency, or company selling creative assets
- Consider your Envato portfolio part of your professional income
Use google and read who is traders. This is not classified information. Or you suggest that individuals reveal their home adress to everyone? Ridiculous.
This is what makes me confused, what is the difference if my Envato income is only a side job and income as a freelancer?
But I do get additional income from Envato Element and Envato Market by working alone without a team or other people, if that’s the case, will I answer no?
I understood the wording to suggest that as I create creative assets and that I have a portfolio on Envato’s platform then I am considered a trader even though I am an individual.
This is wild.
Where’s our privacy?
I’ve never disclosed my personal information online since day 1 of using internet and now you are telling me that you are going to publish my full address with telephone number online?
Can i have Collis personal address and phone number because I have to talk to him about this!
I’m wondering instead if there are any EU regulations that prohibit companies to issue invoices with no legal value on our behalf just for their personal interest.
i was recently asked by my tax office to update to new NACE Rev. 2.1 EU classification. Any idea which code suites best for envato authors?
In Poland (maybe it’s the same for the whole EU?), we have 2 years to update our classification codes. So I just decided that it’s not my problem, but a problem for future me to solve.
The key words: “might be”, “probably”, “broadly” etc.
Yes, that’s why I don’t understand why you’re so confident. Your first post sounded like you knew exactly what you were talking about.
Yes, I know what to do. Everyone must decide for themselves which option suits them best.
