I own a sign company, and would like a module that allows magento to calculate price based on square footage.
Basically Width X Height X Price Per SQFT = Total Price
I have seen hundreds of requests for this module around the web, and i think it could be a lucrative product for a developer to compose. I know it’s something i would purchase as well as others.

There is an extension that does just this. 
I found it in Magento Connect. It is called Advanced Variation Pricing.
