HTML in item descriptions

Various HTML tags like <b> and <hr> don’t seem to work in my item descriptions, yet they work here on the forums, and I’ve seen them in other users item descriptions.

Other tags like italics seem to be working fine.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
