We’re all students and teachers and we invite all corners of the earth to join our glorious melting pot of creative fields, skill levels and cultures.

Here are a few quick tips to get you started with how these forums work and here are our Community Guidelines:

Note: If all these instructions look really, really boring to you…feel free to skip them and just jump into our forums with both feet

Please also check your users preferences because the forums may want to send you more email updates than you’re used to getting (and we’d hate for you to get annoyed). You can specifically set how often you want to be contacted by clicking on your Profile Picture > Preferences > And look for the email settings on that page.

You can change your notifications for any topic via the notification control at the bottom of the topic.

You can also set notification state per category, if you want to watch every new topic in a specific category.

To change any of these settings, see your user preferences.

How can I change my Email?

Email addresses are pulled from your Envato Market account. You will need to change your email address there as you cannot do it on the forums.

Emails from the Forums

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by the emails you are getting from the forums, you can set your notification preferences in your profile preferences and on each and every category and post.

You can also opt in for a forum digest email that keep you up to date on any of the hot topics or things you may have missed. You can find this in your your user preferences.

How to display your badges

Click on your Avatar image and select Preferences (the little gear :gear: icon)

On the left side menu click on Profile

At the bottom under Badges to show, you can choose up to 6 badges that you want to display.

Click Save Changes button.

That’s all you have to do! Now your badges will display under your avatar when you post. You can change which badges are displayed whenever you like.

Community Trust

As you participate here, over time you’ll gain the trust of the community, become a full citizen, and new user limitations will be lifted. At a high enough trust level, you’ll gain new abilities to help us manage our community together.

Our trusts levels will differ slightly from Discourse’s default settings as shown in the link above, but the idea remains the same. Active and helpful users will climb through the trust levels. Liking posts and having your posts liked will also play an important role as will flagging and checking the forums often.

Now get in there and join in the conversation!
