X the theme by THEMECO... Fatal error: Allowed memory size of xxx exhausted...

www.emilialeonelli.it
ciao guys.
i installed and customized and all went fine. nice theme.
after a month the site works fine but i can’t login. back end is blocked by error message
Fatal error : Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 266240 bytes) in /home/mhd-01/www.emilialeonelli.it/htdocs/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 292

i moved all plugins via ftp… didn’t solve the problem

opened a ticket at the service provider TOPHOST… just replied that if it’s not the plugins… is the theme sucking memory.

so what’s next? i move the theme folder via ftp and see if i can access the backend?
thanks!

thank you!

How did you fix it? I had the same problem and my host had to revert my site to a free theme. WP 6.2 is auto updating and crashing with X. I don’t dare to do anything and have no access to support on @THEMECO (the support is basically being able to post to forums for $66 per month! so no thank you.) Any help please!

You need to update the theme before installing WordPress 6.2. A quick look through the item’s public comments section revealed this.

Thanks for your reply!
The problem is that WP 6.2 were autoupdated and not even my host can revert it. So I can’t undo the update, update X and THEN update 6.2. My host tried it and said they can’t. I’m now stuck with 6.2 and somehow need to make X work on it.

I recommend following the instructions in this article from the author for recovery steps: Important WP 6.2 Issue — Please Read Before Updating - Support - Themeco Forum

You will need FTP or file access in some manner. Otherwise, your host can help with this operation.

*** X-THEME IS THE WORST ***. constant problems with updates. I hate it. I’m so mad at them because 5 years ago it was great and we really liked it, so we ended up building like 20 sites on it (paid licenses for each one I might add). Then not too long after they made a massive change to the user interface, and made it the worst experience possible managing and editing content. I’ve been slowly converting all my sites away from this bullshit theme/editor. BUT I’m still stuck with around 5 or 10 of them. and all they are is problematic/wasting time trying to keep them alive - and the clients don’t want to pay to re-build… STAY AWAY FROM X AND CORNERSTONE. build sites with Elementor. :muscle:t3::trophy::facepunch:t3:

Also their licensing scheme is terrible and always wasting time. do yourself a favor and stay away from themeco/x-theme/cornerstone.

@evakatona ->. if you’re still having issues, let me know, and I can fix it for you and maybe provide you a better hosting situation (my company/servers) since your current one seems to be clueless.

that’s all. i feel better now.

To be honest, this is what I’m thinking to do to. Just purchase a new theme and get rid of X. Will check out elementor. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just had this same exact problem. Did you end up finding a solution?
