WP Theme got Soft Rejected. Assets loading issues on demo.

Hello !
After waiting 38 days (just in time) my WP theme got soft rejected.
Here is the list of issues that Review team figured out:

  2. Some of your files contain validation errors that will need to be fixed. Please be sure that all files validate before resubmitting.

The issues are unsignificant, except #3.
Sometimes assets are being loaded using https, i don’t have https, and that’s why they are not loaded (at least in Chrome).
It happens rarely, but it happens, and i can’t find out why it is happening.
Should i buy an SSL certificate ? Or how can i fix it ?
Another issue taht really bothers me is that server response is incredibly slow, it can take more than 10 seconds before page starts to load. It happens only on subdomain multisite. Anyone else faced this issue ?

Hi , It takes about 3-4 seconds here for your demo website to start loading …

Also my theme got soft-rejected before because of this validation error

“Bad value https://api.w.org/ for attribute rel on element link: The string https://api.w.org/ is not a registered keyword.”

I believe this was fixed in WordPress 4.6.1

Also you demo website is working just fine here with no missing assets at all ( no broken links ).

I’m trying to figure out why is server responding so slowly. Asset loading issues only happen on Chrome, when, i don’t know why, the assets are being loaded via https, which faults, because i don’t have SSL. Very weird behavior.
I am getting this validation error pretty often on the pages:

  • The element header must not appear as a descendant of the header element.

This happens because in my header i have mega-menu, with articles, and articles have headers.
I can fix it, but it will resume into a code smell.
Is this really an error that must be fixed ?

Hi , I can’t really say what’s the reason behind the server delayed response , Unfortunalty the same problem occurs on Safari as well ( OSX ) .

Maybe it’s a code quality problem , Or it’s a server-related problem …

Also I don’t see any https requests in your code , Beside “https://api.w.org” of course ,

Maybe I’m missing something ? … I’m on Chrome as well .

Also you can argue about the “header” validation error with the reviewer , I would fix it if I were in your position … Many buyers check the theme they want to buy for validation errors first .

Seems like HTTPS loading is happening randomly. I will probably talk with my hosting provider.
