WP Hard Rejection, will pay cash for advice very desperate

Posted earlier around a Hard reject. So desperate to get this looked at will pay cash for some sort of review. Really struggling to find any clear direction.

I would be so incredibly grateful if anyone could help in pinpointing what I should change. My theme is designed for mobiles so may look a tad strange on a full desktop.

You can find the demo page here http://www.entodev.co.uk/demopage.html

Or the live site here http://www.entodev.co.uk

All feedback will be seriously appreciated even if you think its a lost cause !

Also – to any reviewers – I would be happy to pay if needs be to just get a little more info around the rejection.

Thanks in advance

Tom

design for both - mobile and pc

Hi,

  • The menu seems “double”, try to consolidate it into 1 row, somehow. Then that 1 row can even be sticky. Use some smart sticky logic like on my site http://justifiedgrid.com as you can see on mobile, the menu goes away when scrolled down, but reappears when scrolled up.
  • The slider should have some controls at least touch swiping.
  • How did you recolor the URL bar of Android Chrome? never seen it, but it looks amazing!
  • For my taste there is a little bit too much animation (too fast).
  • The menu’s + toggles are a bit off-placed.
  • The newslette box and its shape, and its relations to the buttons below it is a bit tight. Use more whitespace and more uniform spacing regarding the slanting.
  • Phone number in the footer is too large, while it has the same height block as other buttons with smaller text there.
  • The font in homepage boxes’ content is too small. Increase it to be the same as body text in posts, if possible.
  • Don’t just create a mobile theme. It’s a bit last year thing to do. Create it for desktop too, so you’d have a responsive theme. There is nothing worse, from the point of view of a buyer than having to deal with 2 different themes, one for dekstop one for mobile. Also no one expects their site to be viewed JUST on mobile or JUST on PC. So what would your buyer do with desktop visitors?

Hi tommy, looks a bit “dated”.

Can you tell us the reasons reviewers mentioned?

First off thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to respond in such length. So very kind ! I agree with most of what you have said, double bar, slider, positioning and spacing etc.

My one query is around the advice to design for both pc and mobile. The reason i say this is because there is an entire category on Theme forest for ‘mobile’ with most themes here looking great on mobile but stretched out and silly on desktop. Whilst i do completely understand that from a users perspective this may not be ideal, could this alone be enough to result in a hard rejection ?

Will take on board all of what you have said and aim to provide functionality for Desktop as well.

To change the browser colour in chrome simply place this in the head :

<meta name="theme-color" content="#DDDDD">

Thanks again,

Tommy

Hi Crivion,

Thanks for the comment. Do you think this is due to the use of drop shadowing or just design altogether ? Unfortunately with the hard reject i did not get ANY comments from the reviewer, just the following :

Unfortunately your submission Sliced Enterprise Mobile WordPress Theme isn’t ready for ThemeForest and cannot be resubmitted as it did not meet our minimum requirements for quality and/or Envato Market policies. In order for submissions to be considered for sale they must be of high aesthetic and technical quality, unique to our library and cannot be in violation of Envato’s policies.

Thanks Sodasi, will take this on board !

Hey Tommy,

I’m afraid altogether! Sorry mate!

Place what in the head?

Categories are just made up, as a buyer, I rarely use the categories because I can find hidden gems in categories I never thought I’d look into. Also don’t make selling decisions based on a TF category’s existence. I never seen items that are so mobile oriented that they are not good on desktop. It won’t be top selling that way anyway, even if it’s a perfectly valid submission category.

Whoops sorry - should be able to see the code now ! Very true - will certainly take on board your advice. Thank you so much for taking the time, really cant tell you how much i appreciate it !

Hi Crivion,

appreciate your honesty and time taken to comment. I guess its back to the drawing board :frowning:

Thanks a lot,

In my opinion, the mobile category is for ready use template for mobile app too… For example: Windows mobile app can build from html and javascript…
But I think, envato should explain brief specification for each category… The category getting blurry each day…

You’re welcome! Good luck man
