Have you managed to fix this in the meantime Chung? I’ve had a similar problem updating themes manually. However, managed to get the site back up and running by deleting the WordPress Jetpack plugin from the server.
To do/try this you have to connect via FTP and delete the */plugins/jetpack folder or do it via the plugins menu in the WP admin panel.
Nothing guaranteed though and try at own risk. Make sure to back up your files before deleting if you decide to give it a shot.
