Wordpress Theme rejected: Why do you think? Need advice and reasons.

I have uploaded my first WordPress theme and its hard rejected. I want to know the reasons fo rejection.

“Thank you for your submission. We have completed our review of “LIBRARIA – Online Library WordPress Theme” and unfortunately we found it isn’t at the quality standard required to move forward, and you won’t be able to re-submit this item again.”

I need your advice. What do you think is the problem?

Hi I’ve been through your demos and I must say that you have brilliant designs there I can’t see why this has been rejected as I’ve seen a far lot worse that has been accepted! I am not a professional in this field so maybe someone here will give you better guidance

Good luck hope you manage to get accepted with another project :+1:t2:

Thank you very much for your valuable comment.Actually I am very confused.
There might be some problems but I don’t think it is enough to get a hard reject: /

Does anyone have any knowledge or help ?

Typography is not good and layout is way too generic.

I’m from phone now and I saw your new version of pages.

From my experience with WordPress I can say that your design, ideea of page is old.

Try to check latest themes and trends from themeforest.

Your typography is not ok, idea of theme is to simple, you need to be more creative, add sections better looking, team section, on hover text is not to visible and many more.

My advice is to make your design in Photoshop and then you can convert it to Wp.

Good luck

It is still very, very far from required quality standards. You need to spend much more time working on your skills before submitting something on ThemeForest. Take a look at some recently approved bestsellers to see the level of quality you should aim for.

Thanks for reply. I didn’t want to extend the subject again without trying something, so I didn’t come back.
I first changed my path to TemplateKit, not the theme. I planned to be successful there first and then continue for the theme. I prepared a product and sent it and received a soft reject. I made the product much better than it was and sent it back. This time I got a hard reject. I am sharing the link with you. What could be their reasons? I found the photos from free license sites. Some of them also have human faces, but I have the license. Could this be reason?
-I’m browsing some recent approved templates. There are really problematic and poor quality templates in the last 1-2 months. I really can’t understand. Sometimes I think they get help from inside.

Hi evereyone. İm rejected again.
"The rejection of your theme submission was based in whole upon the following reasons:

  • Visual hierarchy and aesthetics.
  • Typography.
  • Forms and buttons.
  • More attention to details.
  • Better design consistency.
  • Overall spacing.
  • Page content flow and general UX"

This my new Template Kit Project:

My previous project:

How do you think? I am waiting for your feedback.
I was rejected for the 5th time. I think it is in TemplateKit standards.

It might feel like you’re not getting anywhere, but there are some clear aspects that drivesafe lack in.

Bearing in mind that I am checking this theme on a desktop, therefore not even looking at mobile responsive issues, my comments are:

  1. Single Blog - look at the sidebar right hand side - looks awful

  2. Pages > You have no FAQ Pages, no other example pages, only a 404 error

  3. Links - how does this link shown in the image below - look at the URL actually be a proper link?

There are some other tweaks, bits and bobs missing. I’m not meaning to sound harsh, but no it wouldn’t appeal to me in its current format either. Sorry.

@123Simples It was a little long article, sorry.Sorry to read this:
Thank you for your valuable comment. Even though I tested and checked the 404 link again, I missed it. I did FAQ on my other projects, but I didn’t because I didn’t think it was necessary. Because Inside the homepage there is a FAQ. Actually, you are telling the truth, I should have thought a little more generally and add. I created the Pages section because I did not want to put the 404 page page directly on the top menu. I was going to add Courses and Other courses pages to the menu, but it felt unreasonable. What is your suggestion, about the menu? The right side of the single blog section was not at the beginning, but I wanted to add it because it is not in template kits. He was a bit unprofessional yes: /
Apart from common mistakes, what do you think about the theme look My request from you can you also have a look at tattoo template? Thank you very much again.
Edit/Extra: I did a lot of work for Mobile and Tablet views. I’ve tested it on many phones.

Firstly please don’t feel down about what you have achieved so far. Yes I saw the FAQ accordion on the homepage, and assumed that if you then created a link called Pages > then you would have an FAQ Page separate. As you say, a 404 page would then come under the link of Pages >

So for example
Pages >
Shortcodes (if required)
404 Error Page

Along those lines

The blog page right hand side - I don’t need to tell you that the images should not look like cropped rectangles! So maybe the image, then underneath the links, and text.

I can look at the tattoo template tomorrow but this evening (it’s 19.00 GMT in UK) my immediate observations were:

  1. Overall I quite liked the concept, but no return to top button, no fixed header but that’s only my thoughts on navigation.
  2. Footer links - you have a dropdown on Pages >
It doesn’t look right on a desktop

There’s insufficient spacing to actually see the links properly.

I’m running Firefox on Windows 10 at 1920x1080 if that helps

@123Simples Thank you for your nice comment.
You made me take better care of small mistakes.I’m looking forward to your comments tomorrow. :grinning:
Apart from the mistakes you mentioned, I saw minor mistakes. I want to fix them all and send them back to you. I hope you continue your support. :innocent:
I have never seen the problem in the footer section. Oh my blind eye.

Actually you don’t understand the market Design. Please compare your product with the newest items approved in the marketplace then you itself reject your own item. I hope you will understand the market trends.

I can tell you a simple way to get accept is that your product should beat the newest product approved in the marketplace in terms of design.

Themeforest requires the design not your coding. if you fail in terms of design They will hard reject you. if you fail in the terms of coding they will soft reject you

Actions you should take

Compare your design with the newest theme approved in TF

Compare your typography with the newest theme approved in TF

I hope you will understand the marketplace :+1::+1::+1:

Kind Regards

@WordpressRiver Thank you for your nice comment. :innocent: Since it is not a Wordpress theme, I think there is no need for code in designs. I always compare with the themes accepted in the last 2 months. It is fine for the template kit area and I think it is better than most. I can even offer you samples.

Accepted in the last 10 days:

(This design is full of problems.)
(The accepted template I mentioned before)

Some templates are really nice in Template Kit. But bad themes in this style are very present and new.
My goal is not to spite others, just to compare.I also understand that I have to strive to be the best for all time.If the only thing I don’t understand is the design, what are they here?
Do you think the problem is that my designs are insufficient for TemplateKit?
I’m always striving for the better. I have no worries that I cannot do it, only the way is not clear.
Please do not match wordpress or others, match for Template Kit. (He may have misunderstood you. If so, I’m sorry.)
Thanks again. :star_struck:
