Wordpress - change name of theme folder?

I have a theme installed and I would like to rename the folder that it is stored in.

eg http://www.mydomain.com/wp-content/themes/theme_name/

How do I do this? I understand that I need to switch to another theme, if I do will I lose any settings?

Hi,

Export the settings (just in case) then select another theme. Log-in to your domain and rename the folder. From Theme panel, activate the theme.

I don’t think that you’ll need to import the settings again but If you do, use the XML file.
