If I delete an old item that has a 5 star rating, will my overall Author Rating be affected?
I don’t want the item there anymore, but people don’t rate things these days, so I don’t really want to lose the few that I actually have.

hi i personally am not sure about how true my answer is but i tend to believe that no … as this would be a super easy way for some people to get a rating up if only by taking out an item they could cancel the associated ratings … besides i have taken out some items in the past and i have never seen impact … (on the other hand, i have to admit that it was items with not over 1 sale … lol)
It won’t be impacted - removing items will not influence your overall rating.
So lets say I remove every item that has a rating, my overall rating will stay the same?
Yes - there are several authors who have decided to not continue selling items and emptied their portfolio, but you still see the rating. For example https://themeforest.net/user/themeskingdom or https://themeforest.net/user/familab/portfolio who has a rating based on 131 reviews but the items in their portfolio amount to significantly less. There are hundreds if not thousands of accounts like this, even super famous authors https://themeforest.net/user/richtabor or https://themeforest.net/user/krownthemes

I was going to go back and update all of my old items with brand new looks and overall better quality, but if I can just simply delete them and post the updates as a new item then I’d rather do that.
So you need to be VERY careful with that. Removed items cannot be resubmitted..
Adding updates to existing items will almost certainly fall under this category unless they can be classified as effectively entirely new ones, which would mean a whole lot more than a refresh.

Well to give you an idea, the old one is on the left and the new is on the right.
It’s not just an update, it’s a complete remake.
It looks pretty different to me, but I am definitely not the right person to just graphic work (my stick men would be out of proportion!)
Haha well thank you. I contacted support to get a definitive answer. I already uploaded the update, so hopefully support can get back to me before it’s reviewed.
