Why it say does not contiain vaalid theme

zip does not contain a valid theme: missing template “layout/theme.liquid” thats what it says i just purchased the kalless theme caan anyone help i just contacted the author waiting on a response how can this be resolved

Presumably, you are trying to install this on Shopify and not another CMS?

Make sure you are working with just the theme folder and not the entire download

i am trying to upload on my shopify theme thats were i run my store still not sure whzip does not contain a valid theme: missing template "layout/theme.liquid"y it shows the same message plus when i download it says download all files and doccumentation and licenses and pdf license certificate and purchase code

To start the installation, You should unzip package you downloaded from themeforest/elements and you will find another .zip in it, which should be called like your THEM-NAME.zip. Please try to install that .zip.

To install the theme follow the following steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Online Store, and then click Themes
  2. Click Upload Theme in the top right-hand corner
  3. From the Upload A Theme dialog, click Choose File to select one of the .zip files in the Packages folder (mentioned above)
  4. Click Upload

To publish the theme on your storefront immediately, click Publish theme
