We love Bootstrap and we do a lot of sites with it. Things are done quicker with Bootstrap than any other custom frameworks. Foundation is also our favorite, but second choice.

Bootstrap is the most convenient one for experienced developers to build sites quickly and hence it is popular, that’s our opinion.

I did a bootstrap template and to tell you the truth when the template was done i did not like it anymore so i scrapped it.

It’s not my style, i mean it’s cool but not for me.

Personally, I do not like Bootstrap.

Yeah, I’ve used it in some projects, it’s kinda easy and takes away a lot of hard work, but… I prefer using Skeleton. Why? Just because I can call Skeleton some kind of ‘starter kit’, whereas Bootstrap if fully-packed framework. I kinda tend to call it ‘bloated’. If you ain’t gonna use all that fancy stuff Bootstrap has to offer, why should you use it at all? Yup, I know that I can configure it the way I want, but why should I do that, when I can just start designing using ‘starter kit’ like skeleton? It has all the fundamental responsiveness built-in and that’s enough for me, but that’s my personal opinion, just because I tend to keep things as simple as they should be.

You can argue whether Bootstrap is good or bad, but the reason it’s popular is that it’s useful, plain and simple :slight_smile:

Agree. I use it and like it but I would never use it’s buttons and tab styling etc. just grid, responsive feature and some of js. I used Foundation too but it requires more work with adding classes for mobile, Bootstrap needs only one class and it is responsive already. I don’t have experience with other frameworks and also why bother with less known frameworks when mainstream sells.

Never been a huge fan of bootstrap either, except for it’s js libraries. I’ve been using foundation for along time and I love it. But in the end I ended up with a mix of the parts I need.

Is there free open source online forum software that uses a bootstrap front end? I see nodebb.org But $25+/month? PHPbb is free and doesn’t look bad on a mobile browser. But bootstrap apps are beautiful and look “current”. Any suggestions?
